Pisces
The gorgeous view hasn't changed, but the menu has certainly been updated. Pisces at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore overlooks the Baltimore Harbor allowing guests to view all the amazing renovations to our fabulous city. |
On a
recent Saturday night, we boarded the glass elevator for the ride to the top of
the Hyatt. Greeted by Manager William Rush we immediately noticed a change
in the atmosphere of Pisces. Pisces seemed more upscale and sophisticated
since our last visit and the menu reflects this observation. The prices for
entrees ranged from $27-$38 with side dishes such as creamed spinach and garlic
mashed potatoes available for $7. Our server, Matthew, was excellent. He
was very knowledgeable and professional, as one should be in a fine dining
restaurant. The new Martini Menu features 20 martinis from the Peppermint Patty
to my favorite the Flirtini, featuring Ketel One Vodka, Champagne and
Grapefruit Juice, all priced at $9. I began with the Mixed Green salad, featuring
assorted greens, pears, candied walnuts and gorgonzola cheese with a
raspberry vinaigrette, it was delicious.
Chef Gerard Campbell created a menu filled
with filled with seafood, meat and chicken entrees in creative, unique
sauces. My husband enjoyed the Whole Red Snapper, filleted tableside, served
with pancetta, plum tomatoes and basil. At Matthew's suggestion, I ordered
the New Zealand Blue Nose Sea Bass. Served over a potato crouton and spinach in
a lobster and Vermont butter sauce, it was moist and enjoyable, although a
tad less of the rich sauce would have made it even better.
We enjoyed a
bottle of Steele Pinot Noir with dinner, an excellent accompaniment to our meal.
The wine list features several fine selections reasonably priced. Save room
for dessert, the Chocolate Bombe with coconut ice cream and a port syrup
drizzle, is perfect for sharing. The next time you want a special evening, filled
with fine food, drinks and service, head to Pisces, you won't be
disappointed.
Champagne brunch is offered every Sunday, the beautiful view is always
complimentary.
